The Australian Department of Home Affairs has released the latest skilled visa nomination allocations for the 2024–2025 financial year, covering both the Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated) and Subclass 491(Skilled Work Regional – Provisional) visas.
This year, the total allocations are 16,500 places for 190 visas and 9,760 for 491 visas, with Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia continuing to receive high quotas.
As of February 2025, more than half of the allocations in most states have been used. South Australia and Victoria have shown the fastest consumption rates, while Queensland and New South Wales are progressing more slowly—indicating potential opportunities still available in those states.
